about Governor Phillip Park

We're reviewing and updating the Plan of Management for Governor Phillip Park, Palm Beach and considering the recreational, environmental, social and cultural values and characteristics of the area.

The plan will guide the use and management of the park to meet community needs now and into the future.

We want to know how you use the park, what you value and any ideas and aspirations you have for this well-loved area.

Project background

Governor Phillip Park is nestled between the distinctive Barrenjoey Head and Beach Road, Palm Beach, flanked on either side by the ocean and Pittwater. It is a special place and a well-loved part of the Northern Beaches area.

We are planning our approach to revising the Plan of Management (PoM) for Governor Phillip Park.

The revised PoM will consider current and future management and use of the entire park, including a dog-off leash area trial. You can read the existing PoM for the park here.

Broad community engagement will be undertaken as we develop the new PoM. Our first action is to gather your ideas and aspirations for the park.

Dog off-leash areas

At the Council meeting on 22 August 2023 Council resolved to prepare draft Plans of Management (PoM) for Governor Phillip Park, Palm Beach and Mona Vale Beach (southern end) and incorporate proposals for dog off-leash area trials at Palm Beach (north) and Mona Vale Beach (south).

You can read the Council report and Minutes from this meeting for more detail.

If you would like more information about the proposed dog off-leash area trials at Palm Beach (north) and at Mona Vale Beach (south), please visit the Your Say page.
